Downtown Brooklyn Partnership is seeking innovative startups for the Make It in Brooklyn Renewable Energy Pitch Contest, spotlighting companies advancing the future of clean and renewable energy.
Selected startups will pitch before a panel of industry leaders and compete for up to $10,000 in funding and commercialization support.
Prize Structure
The winning startup will receive:
- A $5,000 unrestricted cash award from Downtown Brooklyn Partnership
- Up to an additional $5,000 in milestone-based reimbursement funding through the National Grid Clean Tech Incubation Grant. Eligible expenses include:
Prototype development and testing
Patent and legal filing expenses
Market research and feasibility studies
Commercialization and product development support
Pilot implementation activities
We welcome startups focused on:
Solar technologies
Energy storage
Grid modernization
Electrification solutions
Renewable infrastructure
Battery innovation
Distributed energy systems
Energy software and analytics
We are looking for applicants who are:
Early-stage or scaling startups
Focused on renewable energy innovation
Pursuing commercialization or market expansion
Prepared to present at a live pitch competition
