On January 31st, small businesses from Downtown Brooklyn gathered at Livingston Manor for a Make It in Brooklyn Small Business Meetup. The evening began with a collection of business owners and employees across industries connecting over snacks and drinks, sharing their stories and latest updates. As guests engaged with each other they enjoyed delicious meatballs and falafel from Taïm, one of the newest businesses in the district.

A representative from Small Business Services was on hand to present information about City programs designed to help small businesses thrive. Fruitful conversations arose from a mix of newer businesses such as House of Kellogg and NY Beauty Suites, along with veterans like Gage and Tollner. Attendees gained a range of business insights on topics spanning dry retail to salon services and the restaurant industry. Through a diversity of expertise and different levels of experience, ample information was exchanged while new connections formed.
