Invisible Visible 未见之见 & Silenced Sunrise: Taiwan’s Music vs. the China Factor

Join Brooklyn Public Library for a screening of two documentaries, Invisible Visible 未见之见 andSilenced Sunrise: Taiwan’s Music vs. The China Factor, for a look at how censorship shapes what people can see, hear, and say.

The program brings together these two films to explore the intersections of internet censorship, artistic expression, and popular culture. Connecting Joyce Yu-Jean Lee’s FIREWALL Café project with Chen-Yu Lin’s documentary and research, the screenings open up a wider conversation about censorship, creative freedom, and the power of cultural expression. Together, the films invite audiences to consider how visibility, access to information, and cultural narratives are shaped and contested across borders.
