Downtown Brooklyn Partnership Launches Free Digital Cultural District Guide on Bloomberg Connects

Downtown Brooklyn Partnership today launched a digital guide to the Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District on Bloomberg Connects, the free arts and culture app created by Bloomberg Philanthropies. The guide offers an exciting new way to explore the cultural organizations, public spaces, and public art installations that make Downtown Brooklyn one of New York City’s most vibrant arts destinations.

Available for free on the Bloomberg Connects app, the Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District guide highlights performing arts centers, libraries, galleries, music venues, and community spaces throughout the district. Users can also experience a self-guided audio tour featuring Downtown Brooklyn’s permanent public art installations and cultural landmarks.

“Downtown Brooklyn’s Cultural District has long been at the heart of the neighborhood’s identity and growth,” says Regina Myer, President, Downtown Brooklyn Partnership.

On preserving that legacy, Myer adds, “As Downtown Brooklyn continues to evolve, it is critical that we celebrate the cultural institutions, public art, and creative communities that define this neighborhood’s legacy. This new guide makes it easier for residents and visitors alike to experience the extraordinary arts and cultural ecosystem that continues to shape Downtown Brooklyn today.”

Arts and culture have been central to Downtown Brooklyn for more than a century. Today, the Downtown Brooklyn Cultural district is home to a remarkable concentration of performing and visual arts organizations, libraries, concert venues, artists, makers, and creative industries that contribute to the neighborhood’s identity as one of New York’s leading cultural destinations.

Today, the district includes internationally recognized institutions and innovative cultural spaces including Brooklyn Academy of Music, BRIC, ISSUE Project Room, Mark Morris Dance Group, Theatre for a New Audience, UrbanGlass, The Center for Fiction, and the L10 Arts and Cultural Center.

The guide joins hundreds of cultural organizations from around the world featured on Bloomberg Connects, a platform designed to make arts and culture more accessible from anywhere. Through multimedia content including audio, video, maps, and expert commentary, Bloomberg Connects enhances both in-person and virtual cultural experiences.
