What exactly is an escape game? Simply put, it’s an immersive, interactive experience where teams of players are locked in a themed room and must work together to solve a series of interconnected puzzles, riddles, and challenges to “escape” within a set time limit. These real-life puzzle adventures combine storytelling, problem-solving, and teamwork into an adrenaline-pumping race against the clock.

The Depths promised something special: a deep-sea mystery in which “Dr. Humphrey” had mysteriously vanished from his underwater laboratory, leaving behind only whispers of secret experiments conducted in the crushing darkness of the deep sea. It would fall to the team of brave investigators to uncover the truth. With just 60 minutes on the clock and the weight of the ocean pressing down around them, the players would discover that escaping The Depths requires more than courage, it demands teamwork, keen observation, and the ability to think far outside the box.
Rated at a challenging 7/10 difficulty level, The Depths proved to be an exceptional escape room experience that pushed the team to its limits, culminating in a heart-pounding escape with merely 14 seconds to spare.
A new room opens as the crew gains access to Dr. Humphrey’s underwater laboratory.
The adventure begins in a masterfully designed submarine that serves as the team’s vessel to Dr. Humphrey’s mysterious laboratory. The attention to detail in this first room immerses players in an underwater world, featuring a cohesive aquatic color scheme with metallic walls, bright yellow pipes snaking across the ceiling, and striking teal accents decorating each station. The submarine contains details such as a mission briefing board, crew member lockers, a control panel, and a viewing screen that peers into the dark ocean.
Upon gaining access to Dr. Humphrey’s laboratory, the team encountered a more elaborate and challenging environment that required two hints compared to the submarine’s single hint. The lab demanded elevated coordination among team members, with some crucial components being easily overlooked until they clicked into place with satisfying clarity. Without spoiling any surprises, The Depths included unexpected discoveries and revelations that caught the team completely off guard, culminating in a final escape sequence that brought everything full circle and required maximum teamwork to successfully navigate their return from the depths.
