This summer, Downtown Brooklyn is home to an exciting lineup of activations, from lunchtime entertainment at Brooklyn Commons Park to fitness classes on The Plaza at 300 Ashland. Not only are these events a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and come together as a community, but DBP is also running some fun competitions with great prizes.

Movement Mondays

Every Monday this summer, head to The Plaza at 300 Ashland for dance and exercise classes! Each Monday features a different style of dance, including experimental sabar and hip-hop.

Willoughby Plaza Lunchtime Music

Head out to Willoughby Plaza, Wednesdays at noon until July 27 to enjoy live music performed by some of Brooklyn’s best artists. Willoughby Plaza is located right at the center of a variety of restaurants and eateries, so grab a bite, sit down on the plaza, and enjoy the show.

Zumba with Dodge YMCA

Zumba continues to be one of our most popular events. Come out to Brooklyn Commons Park, Wednesday evenings at 5:00 PM until July 27 to dance with renowned fitness instructor Natarsha McQueen.

Brooklyn Commons Pop Up Lunchtime Entertainment

Lunchtime entertainment can also be enjoyed on Thursdays at noon at Brooklyn Commons Park. The entertainment here is more eclectic, with performances ranging from hip-hop ballet to circus-themed balancing acts!

Vinyl Nights Dance Parties

In August, dance to all your favorite throwback hits during Vinyl Nights, every Thursday at 5:00 PM on Albee Square. Jam out to old-school funk, hip-hop, house, and more released from 1972 to 1992.

Prize: DeKalb Dollars (redeemable at DeKalb Market Hall)

Lunchtime Jazz Concerts

We’re joining forces with the Jazz Foundation of America and the Brooklyn Borough President’s Office to bring you free lunchtime jazz performed live, every Tuesday in August from noon to 2:00 PM!
