Construction Update: The Paxton
New apartments, office space, and retail are coming soon to the corner of Fulton & Flatbush.

At the busy intersection of Fulton Street and Flatbush Avenue, where Fulton Mall meets the Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District, a new building is taking shape that will soon be home to Downtown Brooklyn’s newest workers and neighbors. Jenel Management’s The Paxton, at 532 Fulton Street, is one of the first truly mixed-use buildings in the neighborhood, providing new affordable and market rate apartments as well as new office space and ground floor retail to meet the diverse needs of Brooklyn’s growing downtown.
Commercial office and retail space will be located on the first eight floors, topped by 327 rental apartments – including 96 affordable units that will be allocated through the City’s Housing Connect lottery system. Residential amenities on the ninth floor will include a lounge and gym.
The 43-story, 511-foot project, designed by Marvel Architects, topped out late last year and façade installation is well underway. DBP’s team recently took a tour to check out the progress and get a sneak peek at the building’s riveting skyline views.
The Paxton’s apartments and commercial office and retail space are expected to open in early 2021. We’re looking forward to a new spot to shop downtown — and to welcoming the next creative firms to join Blue State, Gimlet, Propel, and others in calling Downtown Brooklyn home.
Leasing is now underway for The Paxton commercial space, which features:
- 137,000 RSF modern office space
- 33,000 RSF retail space across three levels, with 92’ street frontage
- Landscaped outdoor terraces
- Ground floor branding opportunities on the Fulton Mall
