Summer Lunchtime Jazz Concert: Greg Lewis Organ Monk
Fridays in September, enjoy your lunch outside at Columbus Park accompanied by Brooklyn’s best jazz musicians. Presented by Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams, DBP, and the Jazz Foundation of America, with partial support from the National Endowment for the Arts, NYS Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the NYS Legislature, and from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council.
9/27: Greg Lewis Organ Monk
Virtuoso organist, pianist and composer Greg Lewis is ubiquitous in the city’s jazz, blues and funk scenes. Raving about this project, which brings the works of Thelonious Monk to a fiery organ-based format, critic Howard Mandel wrote of Lewis: “He’s possessed with making music that flies.”
This event is part of the Summer Lunchtime Jazz Concert series.
