Summer Lunchtime Jazz Concerts: Tulivu’s Seasoned Elegance
Fridays in September, enjoy your lunch outside at Columbus Park accompanied by Brooklyn’s best jazz musicians. Presented by Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams, DBP, and the Jazz Foundation of America, with partial support from the National Endowment for the Arts, NYS Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the NYS Legislature, and from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council.
9/13: Tulivu’s Seasoned Elegance
The unique vocal stylist Tulivu Donna Cumberbatch grew up in the Brooklyn jazz scene, the daughter of baritone saxophonist Harold Cumberbatch. A formidable bandleader and a renowned featured vocalist in settings from the Brooklyn Philharmonic and the Kronos Quartet to the groups of John Hicks and Andy Bey, she has, in the words of the late, great Randy Weston, “… beautiful phrasing and the spirit of our ancestors in her sound past present and future.”
This event is part of the Summer Lunchtime Jazz Concert series.
