Learn how to craft compelling interviews, develop thoughtful questions, and record stories in this hands-on oral history workshop led by Emmy-nominated storyteller and photographer Naeem Douglas. This is the first session in a multi-part series designed to give participants foundational skills in community-centered storytelling.
The Power of Story is part of The Dear Neighbor Project—a public art and storytelling initiative created by Brooklyn-based artist Tiffany Baker. The project shares the voices of Gowanus residents impacted by flooding through interviews, photography, and large-scale public installations across the neighborhood.
This workshop welcomes artists, neighbors, and anyone curious about preserving lived experiences through story.
Access to a smartphone with a recording app is encouraged for participation.
