A legendary bassist who got his start in Brooklyn clubs, Stanley Banks followed early stints with Eddie “Cleanhead” Vinson and Esther Phillips with a 45-year run in the touring band of guitar giant George Benson. Along the way he has worked with Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Stanley Turrentine, and David Sanborn, while also working in film and television.
