Center for Fiction Anniversary Party

If this were a birthday party, we’d toast to The Center for Fiction turning 203 years old as a literary organization (founded in 1821 as the Mercantile Library), but instead they’re honoring an important anniversary: it’s been five years since we opened their space in Brooklyn! They couldn’t have made it this far without their growing community of readers and writers, so they wanted to dedicate Independent Bookstore Day to a celebration of their time together.

Here’s what they have in store:

“Take What You Can Carry” tote bag sale
Free cupcakes with Bookstore purchases
Open House with tours of their members floor
Happy Hour specials at their Café & Bar
Brooklyn Bookstore Crawl After Party hosted by Mahogany L. Browne
