Through her singular blend of comedy\, storytelling\, and transformation\, she invites us to reckon with the myths we inherit\, the realities we share\, and the future we are creating together. \nPresented by National Black Theatre and Theatre for a New Audience\nIn Association with Foment Productions\, Cinereach\, and Jayson Jackson

SUMMARY:Make It in Brooklyn Climate Tech Pitch Contest
DESCRIPTION:Join us during NYC Climate Week for the Make It in Brooklyn Climate Tech Pitch Contest\, where five early-stage climate technology startups will compete for up to $10\,000 in funding and commercialization support.  \nFounders will be evaluated on innovation\, feasibility\, market potential\, and potential impact. The winning startup will receive up to $10\,000 in funding and commercialization support to help accelerate its path to market.  \nThe prize includes:  \n\n$5\,000 in unrestricted prize funding from Downtown Brooklyn Partnership. \n\n\nUp to an additional $5\,000 in milestone-based commercialization support through National Grid’s Clean Tech Incubation Program. Eligible expenses include prototype development and testing\, patent and legal filing costs\, market research\, commercialization activities\, and pilot implementation support. \n\nThe Climate Tech Pitch Contest brings together founders\, investors\, industry leaders\, and members of the innovation ecosystem to spotlight technologies addressing some of today’s most pressing climate challenges.  \nFinalists:  \nPollenPal is using AI-powered sensors and computer vision to help beekeepers monitor hive health in real time\, improve colony management\, and address the growing challenge of honeybee colony loss.  \nHiFIT LLC is advancing offshore wind through innovative weld treatment technology that strengthens turbine structures\, enabling longer service life\, reduced steel consumption and maintenance costs\, and lower embodied carbon.  \nNovara Tech is developing mobile recycling technology that transforms hard-to-recycle composite waste from industries like wind energy and construction into reusable materials for urban infrastructure\, reducing landfill waste and transportation costs.  \nKyber Energy is developing AI-powered energy management software that helps commercial and industrial businesses optimize electricity use\, shift demand away from peak periods\, and reduce both energy costs and grid emissions.  \nAtmosOne AI is helping address growing demand on the electric grid by intelligently shifting flexible AI computing to off-peak periods\, reducing grid strain and enabling more efficient use of existing energy infrastructure.  \n Judges will be announced soon.  \nThis event is in partnership with the Malin and National Grid.   \nThe Malin is a beautifully designed workspace for ambitious founders\, creatives\, and industry leaders who value genuine community over transactional co-working\, and they’re offering our network 25% off day passes and meeting rooms at their Brooklyn Heights location\, using code DBP25 through the end of 2026\, redeemable here.  \nAbout Make It in Brooklyn   \nMake It in Brooklyn is Downtown Brooklyn Partnership’s innovation platform supporting startups through pitch competitions\, ecosystem-building initiatives\, and direct entrepreneurial support programs. SUMMARY:Back to the Present: 50 Years of Free Expression with Franklin Furnace
DESCRIPTION:ISSUE Project Room celebrates the 20th Anniversary of its Artists-In-Residence (AIR) program throughout 2026 with performances by current residents and returning alumni. This anniversary season highlights AIRs whose work reflects the ongoing evolution of a much broader community of experimental artists who have helped shape ISSUE for over twenty years. \nWednesday\, September 23rd at 8pm\, ISSUE presents an evening of performance and conversation in partnership with Franklin Furnace as part of their 50th anniversary commemoration and November release of Back to the Present: 50 Years of Free Expression with Franklin Furnace\, edited by founder and pioneering artist\, Martha Wilson. Held at ISSUE’s 22 Boerum Pl. theater during the 2026 Brooklyn Book Festival\, the program reflects the two organizations’ commitments to experimental practice and freedom of expression\, while celebrating their respective anniversary seasons.

SUMMARY:Fall Into Step: Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana
DESCRIPTION:From classical to contemporary and international styles\, our lunchtime dance series showcases a diverse range of performances from talented dancers and choreographers. \nSEPTEMBER 24: flamenco vivo carlota santana\nFounded in 1983\, Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana is one of America’s premier flamenco companies with home bases in New York City and Durham\, NC. We reach more than 30\,000 people nationwide each year through inclusive programs that entertain\, educate\, and empower. Our mission is to promote flamenco as a living art form and a vital part of Hispanic heritage; produce and perform high-quality dance works; provide arts education programs that catalyze connections among young people; and nurture the next generations of flamenco artists and educators. We believe that the universal spirit of flamenco – with diverse influences from Roma\, Arabic\, Jewish\, Spanish\, African and Latin American cultures – gives this art form a unique power to build bridges between people.

SUMMARY:Delirium
DESCRIPTION:September 8 – October 24\nDelirium is Igor Golyak’s bold new adaptation of Eugène Ionesco’s Frenzy for Two. Starring Andrey Burkovskiy and Chulpan Khamatova. A couple is locked in an endless argument while the world outside collapses into chaos. As the boundaries between reality and delusion dissolve\, Khamatova (“Her”) and Burkovskiy (“Him”) inhabit a space where conflict becomes connection\, and contradiction becomes a form of devotion. What begins as absurdist comedy reveals its deeper truth: two people fighting not against each other\, but for each other’s continued existence.
